Apps for Development 3-Week Update

We are three weeks in to Apps for Development and wanted to update you. Over 940 people have registered their support for the competition from across the globe, including Honduras, Indonesia, Japan, Nigeria and Egypt. You don't have to be a software developer to show your interest in the competition, subscribe to updates, and spread the word.

But for those interested in entering the competition, we encourage you to check out the Resources page on the website, where you'll find links to World Bank Data and their sources, Information about the Millennium Development Goals, a forum where people can share App Ideas for others to use, videos, banners to promote the challenge on your websites, and more.

We'd also like to point out a clarification in the rules: Government agencies of any size are eligible to compete for the Large Organization Recognition Award only, which has no cash prize.

Please stay tuned to this blog and our Twitter account at @apps4dev, where you'll find out about some upcoming events over the next few months. Thanks for your interest, and please help spread the word that Submissions end January 10!
